WEONA held their Regional Assembly
The meetings were very ably facilitated by Sister Katherine ‘Kit’ Grey, CSJ, a Sister of St Joseph of Orange and former General Superior. Sister Kit led the Assembly through the principles of Generative Listening and a step-by-step journey of the U Methodology.
The Assembly went through the various stages of Sensing the proposed topics of discussion suggested by the General Chapter Commission. The process finally concluded with the Provinces, who engage coworkers, agreeing to participate fully in the Sensing recommendations from the General Chapter Commission and set up Sensing Groups to involve coworkers, service users, partners, etc.
The WEONA Assembly concluded with the decision that the most important issue facing WEONA is ‘diminishment.’ The Region decided that this issue along with the Climate and Biodiversity Crisis, needed the combined attention of the WEONA Region and brought, as a Region, to the floor of General Chapter. Therefore, it was decided that each Province of the Region would set up sensing groups with only the Brothers to work on the following:
- Diminishment’ - ‘Walking Each Other Home
- The Cry of the Earth, the Cry of the Poor
- Life of the Brothers
