Venue and meeting time
The 70th General Chapter will take place from 15 October to 7 November 2024 in the southern Polish pilgrimage town of Częstochowa. With a population of almost 220,000, it is the second largest city in the Silesian Voivodeship after Katowice.
Częstochowa is around 220 kilometres from Warsaw and is known worldwide for the icon of the Black Madonna of Częstochowa in the Jasna Góra (Bright Mountain) monastery. The image of the Virgin Mary is venerated by the Polish population as a national symbol and is the destination of several million pilgrims every year.
